We will look at how to use the out-of-the-box components to solve simple and complex challenges, how to configure those rules to get the most efficient outcome and how to review your rules so you can be confident that what works today continues to give you success tomorrow.

The Validation, Estimation and Editing (VEE) process is a core functionality of the MeterSense MDM. This allows users to keep up with an avalanche of AMI data without issues slipping through the cracks. A proper configuration of VEE is critical to enable utilities to truly leverage the power of VEE. During this workshop, you will work through common VEE issues that you face every day with the experts at SmartWorks. You will also be given an opportunity to discuss your experiences with your peers. This will allow you to get optimal configuration, success and failures from a broad user community. Whether you are currently deploying new AMI meters, are fully deployed or are looking to leverage your AMI/MDM investment to the fullest, this session can help!

Compass 5.0, released in mid-2019, enables the platform to run on a PostgreSQL database as an alternative to Oracle, reducing third party licensing costs. In addition to this major architectural change, there are many new features and enhancements that improve performance, usability, and data visualization. In this session you will see these new features in action, and learn how your organization can benefit from this exciting new product release!

The SmartWorks Connect platform (formerly CustomerConnect) allows your customers to better visualize, understand and stay informed about their usage trends and patterns. In this session we will focus on features and configuration options to better educate and engage with your customers via HomeConnect. We will also look at some of the flexible and powerful data analysis tools you can provide your key accounts via BizConnect.

There is increasing pressure to manage our water resources more sustainably. In this two-part session you will learn how SmartWorks Compass can help you and your customers use less and lose less. Before the meter, water loss can be quantified, analyzed and monitored to empower you to act faster and more effectively. Analyzing the performance of the meters themselves can further reduce Non-Revenue Water by helping identify malfunctioning meters. Beyond the meter, SmartWorks can track, analyze and optimize conservation programs to maximize water savings. Intelligent leak detection, notification and monitoring also reduces customer leaks, dramatically decreasing costly damage and water costs, while reducing your call center burden. You will have the opportunity to learn about their challenges, ask questions, and share your experiences as well. You will discover new ways to improve customer service; automate processes and analyze smart grid data; and come away with some great new ideas for your utility!

SmartWorks Compass provides powerful modules such as Transformer Loading, Line Loss Analysis, Voltage and Blink Analysis that streamline proactive monitoring of your distribution network. In this two-part session, we will provide an overview of how these tools can help you identify points of failure, fault, loss and underutilization within your distribution network. We’ll then highlight one of the modules, taking a deeper look at how this functionality aided one of our customers and how they found success using it.
