SmartWorks is a trusted provider of utility data intelligence solutions, empowering electric, water, and gas providers across North America and the Caribbean to turn smart infrastructure data into actionable insights.
We are a subsidiary of N. Harris Computer Corporation, part of Constellation Software Inc. (TSX: CSU) — one of North America's most successful enterprise software investment firms. Backed by this strong foundation, SmartWorks delivers powerful analytics and meter data management capabilities through our integrated platform, SmartWorks Compass.
Our story began in 2009 with the development of MeterSense, a flexible MDM module first introduced under the NorthStar brand by Harris. As the utility sector's demand for deeper data insights grew, SmartWorks was established as a dedicated business unit focused on evolving and expanding that solution.
Today, SmartWorks Compass enables utilities to improve operational efficiency, meet regulatory goals, and enhance customer engagement through data-driven decisions — all while supporting flexible integration, scalable deployment, and long-term value.
